Finding a safe, effective and natural colon cleanser can be difficult, particularly when you begin to wade through the wealth of information that is available today regarding your colon health. Combine the articles that offer myriad opinions on the efficacy of natural colon cleansing with the enormous array of companies and individuals with cleansing mixtures for sale, and it can be difficult to know where to turn for an unbiased overview on the subject. If you have been drowning in an ocean of information while searching for your personal recipe for natural colon cleansers, then look no further. Here is a brief guide to what you need to know.

More than ever, we are aware of what we put into our bodies, and have come to discover, either through reading about various illnesses and conditions on the internet, or having the misfortune of experiencing one of them for ourselves, that the health of our digestive system is paramount. The colon is an important part of this system, being the last stop for the waste that our body has accumulated before it leaves our body.

It makes sense that cleansing this region would be imperative to our health, and with our ever-growing body consciousness, that we would prefer all natural colon cleansing if possible.

While some people argue that the colon is, in fact, capable of performing such a cleansing procedure by itself, many others believe that even a healthy colon needs the help of a natural colon cleanser from time to time. Whether the urge to cleanse this area stems from an uncomfortable, and sometimes painful, bout of constipation, or the belief that the build up of toxins in the colon are causing a range of other, more diverse symptoms, even those who claim that colon cleansing is unnecessary would agree that a natural colon cleanse, performed properly, does no damage, and possibly a great deal of good.

For any natural colon cleanse to achieve optimal effects, a healthy diet must be adhered to during, and ideally after, the cleanse itself. Plenty of water should be consumed in order to more easily facilitate the passage of waste while a frequent component of the recipes for natural colon cleansers is the adoption of a liquid diet for the duration of the cleanse.

Many people find, in fact, that these simple dietary changes are sufficient to act as a natural colon cleanse in their own right, but for those still encountering problems, a more powerful cleanse can be achieved by the addition of such herbal substances as psyllium husks, which act as roughage, and probiotics, which help increase the number of healthy bacteria in the colon area, helping you to maintain the healthy colon achieved by your simple and all-natural colon cleanse.

And if you do undertake a complete colon cleanse then remember that you still have to look after yourself after the cleanse, that just doing a cleanse on its own wont have long lasting benefits.

Colon health difficulties are much more widespread in the developed world than you might think. One reason is that we tend to shy away from topics like constipation and health in our everyday conversations. But even if are not willing to talk about it, the healthy functioning of your colon is crucial to your overall health and well-being. If you’re suffering from chronic pain, constipation and lack of energy, these could be symptoms that indicate you need a natural colon cleanse.

You may be wondering why your doctor has never discussed the need for a colon cleanse. The reality is that most doctors receive very little training in nutrition and natural health procedures. This often means that maintaining your overall well-being and good natural health is up to you.

Finding and using a natural colon cleanse that works should be one of your highest priorities. Our intestinal tract and waste elimination systems were designed to work quite well with a natural diet and regular physical activity. But today we are much less active and much more likely to be eating processed and engineered food. Not only are chemicals added to your food, but beneficial nutrients are often removed in the process. These unnatural foods create toxins in your body. Not only is your colon health affected, but it places an extra load on other toxin-removing organs in your body as well.

A natural colon cleanse accomplishes more than simply cleansing unwanted matter and built-up waste from our colon. It also helps to disinfect your colon, kills unwanted bacteria and regulates and balances your intestinal flora. Intestinal flora are natural microorganisms that live in your digestive tract. Although it’s possible to live without them, they play an important role in improving our overall health and protecting us from harmful microorganisms.

Those who’ve experienced a colon cleanse report relief from an incredible array of health conditions, including constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, headaches and allergies. As you might have guessed, a natural colon cleanse is an excellent way to lose weight and many dieters report that weight loss is much easier once their digestive system is operating at peak efficiency. Optimal functioning of our colon also means that we will be assimilating vitamins and minerals from our food much more easily.

Since a colon cleanse reduces waste and toxins in our bodies, you should also expect greater overall vitality, higher alertness and possibly even some relief from depression.

There are several basic ways to accomplish a natural colon cleanse. Most of these solutions can be found at your local health food store or on the Internet. If you choose to purchase from the Internet, do your research well and don’t fall for a product with outlandish claims and an unbeatable price.

An oxygen-based colon cleanse is preferred by many alternative health practitioners because it’s able to effectively remove unwanted bacteria while leaving the good bacteria in place to continue working. An oxygen-based natural colon cleanse cleans and refreshes your entire intestinal tract, not just the lower intestine.

Another way to accomplish a natural colon cleanse is through the use of colonics or colon hydrotherapy. Colon hydrotherapy is often used in connection with an oxygen-based colon cleanse. Also known as colonic irrigation, colon hydrotherapy is quite similar in many ways to an enema, but uses purified water that often infused with beneficial minerals or other natural substances.

You also have the option of performing a natural colon cleanse by using herbal-based products. Herbal-based products normally contain natural fiber, which is designed to loosen and remove built-up materials from your colon, and parasite-fighting herbs, which naturally kill any intestinal worms or other parasites you may be harboring in your colon.

Some purists maintain that the only truly natural colon cleanse involves changing your diet to eliminate processed foods. A diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables, juices and high fiber foods is optimal for good colon health. And you will certainly want to begin adjusting your diet to avoid colon health problems in the future. But it’s a good idea to start the colon cleanse process with high quality herbal products that can help you get off to a good start.

The most Common Colon Cleansing methods:
The traditional methods of colon purging have included increasing the fiber in the diet while taking laxative herbs, such as Cascara Sagrada or Senna. These laxatives are harsh to the body and can create a dependency not unlike an addiction. Fiber for bowel congestion usually is made up of psyllium seed husks. This natural plant derivative absorbs water in the bowel and becomes mucilaginous. This creates a bulk that is helpful for removing matter from the colon, but it is not a complete purify. Other methods include colonic irrigation (enemas/hydrotherapy), laxatives and the very effective oxygen-based cleansers. 2. Enemas and Hydrotherapy:
If you don’t mind having an apparatus being inserted into your anus and water being blasted into your lower intestine, then enemas and hydrotherapy are for you. Both methods are very invasive, and although they work perfectly well to flush out some of the compacted fecal substance, they do not go far enough. Remember, the colon is up to 1.5 meters long (5 feet) and these techniques only attack the lower end of the colon.

3. Herbal Remedies:
A colon purify works to soften and cleanse away compacted fecal mass. A herbal colon cleanse is a natural version of a laxative basically. An oxygen based colon health product creates a chemical reaction that releases oxygen and melts the impacted matter in the intestines and colon into gas and liquid. It will make you need to stay close to a bathroom for a day or so while you wipe out the mass from your colon, but you will feel much better afterwards. Look for an oxygen based colon detox product that is available in a capsule form. Make sure it does not include ascorbic acid among the ingredients because ascorbic acid is an antioxidant. As a result, you will rid your digestive system of damaging toxins, and make it easier for your body to better absorb the nutrients from the foods you consume.

Colon cleansing is an excellent way to improve your health and lose weight naturally. It has also started becoming quite popular in recent years because it can have such a positive effect on your overall health, and there are excellent home remedies and diets which can help you lose weight quickly using colon cleansing techniques.

Colon cleansing isn’t for everyone, and if you’re new to the concept it may seem a bit gross and strange. In general though, there are two common ways to do a colon cleanse: The first is to use enemas to flush toxins and waste out of your colon; and the second is to use herbs, recipes and remedies which cause your body to flush itself out naturally via standard elimination methods.

The best form of colon cleansing is a personal choice, but the fastest results often come from using enemas because they can clean your entire system out with just one or two applications.

Using herbal laxatives, teas, and supplements to cleanse your colon takes a bit longer to do, but tends to be much less messy and embarassing. There are however, herbs and teas which can have similar effects as enemas, so things can still happen quickly using these methods.

The colon is the human body’s waste disposal system. The waste that it moves out of your body contains harmful toxins, disease causing bacteria, and sometimes even parasites.

Human waste does not always move very quickly through the body though. In fact, due to today’s eating and activity lifestyle choices, most waste takes quite a long time to move fully through and out of your body. And the longer it takes to move through, the more time it has to “leak” those toxins and bacteria into your system.

By cleansing your colon, you’re helping your body to get rid of that waste and all the health hazards it contains more quickly. Thus there’s not enough time for it to start causing general health problems with the rest of your body.

Now there are some very simple formulas, recipes and products which can help you with colon cleansing. Home made lemonade is one of them. In fact, there’s even a lemonade diet which works quite well at both colon cleansing and causing quick, sometimes drastic, weight loss.

The lemon diet is more of a juice fast than anything though, and many people aren’t able to go without food for major lengths of time. You don’t have to use the lemonade diet to cleanse your colon though, you can do that simply by drinking 6-8 glasses of real lemonade each day. This helps your body eliminate more waste when you use the bathroom, and that of course is the goal of colon cleansing.

Epson salt is another natural option to use for cleaning your colon, and the recipe is quite simple. Mix a tablespoon of Epson salt with a quart of warm water, and drink it all at once. Stay close to the bathroom for about two hours though, because you will need it desparately.

Another easy colon cleanse option is to simply buy herbs and supplements. One specific herb that works quite well by is chlorophyll. Depending on how strong of a dose you take, the colon cleanse can happen just as quickly and dramatically as it does when using epson salt.

A less dramatic yet all natural way to cleanse your colon is to simply get more fiber in your diet. You can do this by eating more roughage such as salads and green leafy vegetables, or you can take a fiber supplement as well.

There is much more than can be written about the benefits of cleansing your colon, and all natural ways to go about doing it yourself from the privacy of your home. The above tips and information should be plenty to help you get you started though, and on your way to a much healthier, happier you.

If you’d like to simply give your colon a great cleanse a few times each year, one easy way to do this is to use a seasonal colon cleansing system.

Colon cleanser tablets are an excellent way to keep your colon clean and healthy. To ensure good results and to keep your body safe, you need to know how to select the right colon cleanser tablets from the many available on the market.

Reasons for Using Colon Cleanser Tablets

As the name implies, colon cleanser tablets are used to clean out the colon. Cleansing the colon should be a part of your regular health routine to help keep your overall health at its optimum level.

You may be surprised to realize the importance of the colon regarding overall health. The reasons are very simple. In response to the foods you eat, your colon naturally produces mucus and sludge to protect itself during the digestive process. The more unhealthy foods you eat, the more mucus and sludge your colon produces. Unfortunately, this mucus and sludge tends to become built up on the inner colon wall and makes it difficult for waste to pass through. Thereafter, constipation may develop.

In addition to causing constipation, the accumulated sludge releases toxins into your bloodstream. These toxins spread throughout your body, causing your immune system to weaken, ultimately leading to many illnesses such as allergies, skin rashes, and general fatigue.

To help keep the colon clean and prevent the spread of toxins within your system, you should use colon cleanser tablets. Using the right colon cleansing tablets will flush out your system and remove the waste from the walls of your colon.

Selecting Colon Cleansing Tablets

If you have been searching for colon cleansing tablets already, you have probably discovered literally dozens of different tablets are available. How are you supposed to determine which colon cleanser tablets are right for you?

You should consider several factors when shopping for colon cleanser tablets. The first thing you need to consider is whether or not the colon cleanser tablets are oxygen-based. Oxygen-based colon cleansers, such as Oxy-Powder®, are capable of liquefying the waste built up on your colon wall. This allows it to be released more easily from your body while also leaving your colon cleansed and healthy.

Many colon cleanser tablets can be detrimental to your health. For example, colon cleanser tablets relying on a laxative effect should be avoided. These types of colon cleanser tablets do not actually cleanse the colon. Rather, they soften the stool that was going to be released anyway. As a result, the mucus and sludge that has built up on your colon walls is not removed. Also, your colon can become dependent upon the supplement, which means you will not be able to eliminate waste properly unaided. On the other hand, oxygen-based colon cleanser tablets are not addictive.

You also need to be careful to select colon cleansing tablets made with fresh ingredients. To save money, some manufacturers use ingredients that are nearly expired or they use parts of plants containing less of the active ingredient than the actual source. This results in tablets that are not potent or that do not provide the proper effect. In some cases, the ingredients may expire and can actually upset your colon or make your digestive problems worse.

Colon cleansing tablets including a variety of ingredients are more effective than those relying on a single ingredient. In fact, some single ingredient colon cleansing tablets can be too abrasive and can damage your digestive system. Those colon cleansing tablets (made solely from Psyllium husks for example) can be detrimental if used too frequently.

Recognizing When Colon Cleansing Tablets are Effective

There are a number of ways to determine whether or not your colon cleansing tablets are effective. First, the appearance of your stool can help you determine if you are achieving success. If your colon cleanser tablets are cleansing the mucus from your colon, you will notice that your stool is shiny. It will probably be dark in color as well, which will help you differentiate between colon cleanser tablets that cause diarrhea and those that are actually cleansing the colon.

You may also lose some weight after using quality colon cleansing tablets. This weight is not fat. Rather, it is weight lost from finally emptying the accumulated waste from your colon. Some people lose as much as 20 pounds after cleansing their colons. Even if you don’t lose weight, most people feel lighter after a successful colon cleansing.

Colon cleansing tablets are beneficial to your digestive system as well as your body. Just choose the right tablets in order to obtain the results you desire.

Your digestive system health, various intestinal topics and the concept of a colon cleanse are not your normal, everyday dinner club or water cooler conversation topics. But as people begin to accept more personal responsibility for their overall health, and as natural treatment alternatives become more popular, discussions about the benefits of a colon cleanse are becoming more acceptable.

The colon refers to a six-foot long section of your large intestine. The colon’s job is to absorb water from the liquefied food that the large intestine receives from the small intestine. It also works to disintegrate waste, which is then eliminated from the body. The colon clearly plays a critical role in our digestive system, so you can begin to understand why a colon cleanse can have such a large positive impact on our overall health.

Our body is designed to function naturally for many, many decades. So why would something that seems so unnatural, like a colon cleanse, even be necessary in the first place? In case you hadn’t noticed, many of us are eating foods that are not naturally good for us. A diet that includes meat, dairy and processed foods means that we are taking in far more fat, refined sugar and preservatives than we were naturally designed to process.

Over time, a diet that includes the wrong foods will lead to a build-up of waste and bacteria on the walls of the colon. In an effort to protect itself from unhealthy foods, the colon produces mucus and sludge, which also accumulate on the colon’s walls. This build-up of waste and other putrid elements is a fertile breeding ground for parasites and leads to the release of toxins into the bloodstream. A colon cleanse works to remove this toxic buildup and restores your colon to naturally good health.

An accumulation of waste in your colon can possibly lead to serious side effects. Poor colon health has been linked to abdominal pain, bloating and the flu. More serious side effects include the growth of parasites, an increase in allergic reactions, declining cardiovascular health, and even the possibility of cancer.

You should be aware of the wide array of symptoms that could indicate your need for a colon cleanse. Hemorrhoids, muscle pain and stiff joints, lethargy and fatigue, bloating and loss of appetite, headaches and even bad breath could all be warning signs of deteriorating colon health.

If you’ve never experienced it before, you might be apprehensive about the prospect of a colon cleanse. You might find the whole subject so distasteful you’d rather ignore it completely. But if you ever try a colon cleanse and feel the difference it makes to your whole body, it will likely become a regular routine for you.

The benefits of a colon cleanse include improvements in your skin and reductions in your allergies. Most people find that it’s easier to lose weight after a colon cleanse because their digestive system is functioning more effectively. A colon cleanse will likely give a boost to your immune system by reducing the amount of toxins that your body is being forced to ward off.

When your colon is functioning at its peak, it will improve your overall health After you complete a colon cleanse, it’s a good idea to help your body maintain your colon’s health as much as possible. You can help keep your colon clean by reducing processed foods and increasing fiber intake in your diet.

You’ll probably want to make a colon cleanse a regular part of your personal health care routine. How often you repeat it will depend on your body and your personal lifestyle. Most doctors suggest that you perform a colon cleanse about once a year. There are several different methods you can use to accomplish a colon cleanse. Sometimes you may be required to fast. Others may prescribe certain natural supplements to be taken together with certain foods. One average, a colon cleanse will take about one week

But there’s no question that regular colon cleansing will naturally make you feel better all over. The health improvements that you gain are well worth thinking the unthinkable and doing the distasteful. You will soon consider a colon cleanse to be a natural, healthy habit. But please don’t tell me about it at the water cooler.

Eat plenty of fiber and drink 6 – 8 glasses of water a day.

Do not take laxatives nor use one of those "flush" systems. Both hurt you in the long run.

I’ve been doing a little research on those colon cleansing kits and they seem like the way to go for a healthier system. I work out regularily & have begun eating better. These kits are believed to eliminate toxicity and waste from the body, reduce stress from our vital organs (liver, colon, kidneys, blood, skin, etc.) and support the rejuvenation of the immune system. This all sounds great, B U T…..EXPENSIVE!! I just wondered if anyone knew any safe home remedies that might work as well?

Psyllium hulls in powder form that you mix with water 2 to 3 times per day, drink lots of water, eath lot of fiber and raw vegetables, take acidophilous. this would be a good minimum to start. After about 2 weeks you can reduce psyllium to teice daily and discontinue the acidophilous.

You may wish to do a juice fast for the first day or two if you have a juicer and can access fresh vegetable juice, not v8 or sugary fruit juices.

This is not the most complete or exhaustive cleanse but it is a good basic start and the psylliun, water, fiber, vegetables part of it can be maintained for life. In the long run cunsistent healthy practices win out over occasional extremes anyway.

I’ve been wanting to do a colon cleanse. I’ve never done one before. However, I heard you should do one if you are constipated and have little bowel movements. I have at least 2-3 bowel movements everyday. Should I do a colon cleanses? Is it really even necessary?

I certainly don’t think it is necessary in your case. I don’t understand why anyone would want to do that.

are they pretty much the same cause if they are, I wouldn’t need a colon cleanser. I would like to know what is the best colon cleanser on the market? I was going to go with hydroxcut something like that.

Laxative’s make you poop
A Cleanse helps empty the intestines as well. A natural cleanse is better. Plus you should prep your body before hand with a natural food diet for 3-7 days prior. A cleanse can make you feel good and bad.
Try a Colonic for the best results.
