Improper diet causes allergies and constipation. Chronic constipation is improved by changing to a more natural diet and drinking more pure water, eliminating refined flours, processed sugars, increasing whole grains. Drinking more water and eating more fiber such as flax seed or brown rice will make a big difference. Also adding a tablespoon of coconut oil to your diet everyday will improve things.

Fiber, fiber, fiber, and oh yeah, fiber. Try to eat lots of high fiber foods – especially fruits and vegetables. Exercise is also important because moving around helps move things in your bowels. I’ve been dealing with similar issues for about 10 years. I try to eat a banana and a bowl of high fiber cereal every day. And try to avoid cheese as much as possible.
Something else you can do is keep a food journal. If you can look back as see what you ate in the 24 hours before good and bad days it will help you know what foods to avoid and what foods help. For example, I discovered almonds with sea salt seem to make it worse for me – but probably because I ate too many over a period of time.

find out first what is causing the constipation; constipation is a symptom, not a medical condition; there are many causes – wrong diet (not enough fiber, not enough water, not enough fat, etc, or combinations); stress (because you may be uptight – what they call "tight-assed", and not in the good way); certain medications cause constipation (like those for hypertension); lack of physical activity (walking works for some people, especially the elderly);
regarding allergies as a cause, this is the first time I have heard that allergies can cause constipation; but then again, it may depend on what type of allergy;
as for me, if try to limit my food intake, I get constipated – because there is not enough to get that "feeling" – I do not eat much, sometimes just a banana and a tuna sandwich for the whole day;

I’m glad to see that you’re seeking medical treatment for your condition. Chronic constipation—indeed any change in bowel habits—needs to be checked out by a medical doctor.
I’m assuming that you have seen your primary healthcare provider and have been told to treat your constipation symptomatically until you are able to see the specialist. If so, I think it’s always best to try lifestyle and nutritional approaches first. These include exercising, drinking plenty of water, consuming plenty of fiber (either from foods or supplements), abdominal massage, etc.
A note about fiber: You need to increase it gradually and take it with adequate amounts of fluids. If you choose a supplement (e.g., Citrucel, Metamucil), be sure to follow the directions in this regard.
If lifestyle changes and nutrition prove to be inadequate, you might need to take a laxative, suppository, or enema on occasion. I am not a proponent of laxatives—synthetic or herbal—and discourage their use unless used VERY occasionally. They can actually contribute to constipation! I believe that a glycerin suppository or small tap water enema is a much better option.
Since you think food allergies may be a cause of your problem, you might want to consider an elimination diet (see http://www.webmd.com/allergies/allergies-elimination-diet for a brief description). A nutritionist or your primary healthcare provider should be able to provide with such a diet.
