Some people are naturally predisposed to it (due to unusually capacious colons or not having enough nerves there).
But if none of those things has helped – you need to see another doctor/gastroenterologist!

What works best for me is lots of water and 2 dried apricots a day. They are very good, easy to find and work quickly.

Eat yogurt too. Doesn't have to be the Activia yogurts either. All yogurts do the same thing to help keep people "regular."

try taking syrup of figs should work within the hour. Or if you cant get that try prunes and then take an orange every night to keep you regular
