Your vet's recommending using more than one of those products at the same time??? And on a KITTEN?

Revolution is all you need to kill fleas and prevent fleas, mites, heartworm, roundworm and hookworm. If your cat stays indoors you really don't have to worry about ticks. Is your "somewhat-outdoor patio" enclosed or not?
References :
You should use Revolution in combination with Capstar. If you are having a flea problem, use Capstar every couple of days until it is under control. You will see the fleas die and fall off.

Revolution prevents heartworms, fleas, ear-mites and intestinal parasites in cats.

You have to take your cat to the vet at least once a year to purchase Revolution. Use that in combination with Capstar, and your flea issues should be under control. Good luck!
References :
Working for a vet for years. Had cats for over 30 years.
